Privacy Policy
We use speech only to provide pronunciation feedback and do not sell personal data or use it for advertising.
Voice and pronunciation data
When you request a pronunciation assessment, the app captures a short audio sample and sends it over encrypted transport to AccentScore's API. The API forwards the sample to a speech analysis provider for scoring. By default AccentScore processes the audio in memory for that request and does not retain the raw recording.
Optional saved recordings
If you explicitly enable saved recording history, AccentScore stores completed WAV recordings in private object storage for up to 30 days so you can revisit those runs. Saved recordings are protected by a device-held credential, are not used for advertising or model training, and can be deleted from the app.
Data stored on your device
The app stores your selected language, practice dates, lesson identifiers, scores, streaks, onboarding choices, subscription state, and detailed feedback for recent attempts locally. Recent feedback can include the prompted phrase, recognized transcript, and word, syllable, and phoneme comparisons. A random installation identifier, device credential, and short-lived API token are kept in secure device storage.
Anonymous product analytics
AccentScore may collect fixed, first-party product events such as app opens, onboarding progress, practice starts, paywall views, purchase outcomes, and aggregate assessment timing and score metadata. These events use a pseudonymous installation identifier and do not include raw audio, transcripts, reference text, or free-form error messages. You can disable future anonymous analytics from the Progress screen. Daily aggregates and pseudonymous installation activity are retained for up to 400 days; clearing local practice history does not delete previously aggregated analytics.
Service providers
- A speech analysis provider processes audio and returns pronunciation measurements.
- Private object storage retains only recordings you explicitly choose to save for replay.
- Railway hosts the API and temporary quota controls.
- Apple processes App Store purchases and subscription status through StoreKit.
Retention and deletion
Unsaved raw audio is discarded after the request. Saved recordings expire automatically after 30 days and can also be deleted earlier from the app. Local practice history can be deleted from the Progress screen. Removing the app deletes its local data, subject to operating-system backup behavior.
Children
AccentScore is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
